This morning I went for my Australian Citizenship Interview and Test.

The interview wasn’t anything more than taking my photo and scanning my documents. I was told to budget 30-minutes for the interview, but it probably only took about 5-minutes.

I was escorted to the back room of the Australian Centrelink office where they had a room set-up with two computers for the citizenship test. They set me up on the computer where I had to answer 20 multiple-choice questions in a 45-minute time frame.

The topics covered by the Australian Citizenship Test were:

  • A story of Australia (Australian History)
  • Australian Values
  • Governing the Country (Australian Government)
  • Our Land, Our Nation
  • Responsibilities and Privileges of Australian Citizenship

The three questions in the Responsibilities and Privileges of Australian Citizenship were mandatory questions, so I had to get those three correct. The pass mark for the test was 60%.

There were a few questions that I was only 90% sure I got right, but overall I was pretty confident. When I got the results I scored 100% on the Australian Citizenship test!

I was glad that I had read through the Becoming and Australian Citizen booklet two times, and also gone through a bunch of the Australian Citizenship example tests. Some of the controversy over the test is the Australian sports questions. There were only two sports questions on the test, and since I have lived here for almost ten years already, they were pretty easy ones.

My interview was due to start at 11:30. I had arrived 15-minutes early just because I was too scared to be late. They got me into the interview early and I was done the interview and the test by 11:30. I was pleasantly surprised.

Now the next step will be to send in my application form, wait until it’s been approved and then attend an Australian Citizenship Ceremony.

can u pls tell where can i get the book about becoming australia citizenship im having my test on monday on 15 september

  5. You can download the Australian Citizenship Booklet from the link in the article above.

You can also order the citizenship book from http://www.citizenship.gov.au/test/becoming-citizen-order.htm, but I don’t reckon it would get to you in time.

I did my citizenship test at one of the local Centrelink offices and I think that they might have had the books there, so you can always call the local office to find out if they have any there.

Good luck with your citizenship test on Monday.

if you read the book properly then i assure you that you will pass your exam pretty easy. The questions were very easy and you need to use some of your common sense also. I passed my exam with 100% marks reading the booklet for only 2 days.

Rest don’t be nervous and take your time as you will get 45 mins, which is too much (i finised mine in 10 mins after checking the answers twice)

That sounds like a very simple process to get your citizenship! I live in the US right now, and it is kind of tough to get your citizenship. However, I do plan to move to Australia once I retire. Hopefully, I’ll gain my citizenship as soon as possible. http://www.immigrationsolutionstrademark.com.au

After the interview I went into the room. A lot of people from all over the world taking the test. and failing. I heard that Turnball is gonna make the test harder and you can only have three chances. Study hard and wear your Logic hat. Good luck…..
