ywam.org Home - YWAM One of the things that we are always trying to do in Youth With A Mission is improve our ability to communicate what is happening in the mission. That is one of the reasons why I produce the YWAM Podcast, set-up YWAM Information Technology, my YWAM News web-site and why I work on many of the other projects I work with around the world.

Despite the proliferation of Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels most people still do most of their on-line communications using e-mail. From people and organisations that I am really interested in following I will usually look for a way to sign up for e-mail newsletters if I’m given the option.

With that in mind I’ve set-up a way for people to subscribe to receive an e-mail every time that news is added to the YWAM International Web-Site. You just need to put your e-mail address into the form on the left and hit submit. You will then be sent a confirmation e-mail and after confirming your e-mail address any time there is a news story added to the YWAM Interational web-site you will be sent the article via e-mail.

At the moment there are only three subscribers to this service, so I’m curious to see if it is something people are interested in and if it is a viable communications channel to add to our ways of connecting people to the mission.

Only 3?! I signed up as soon as I realized it was now possible. Being up to date with things a little more is priceless! Guess the word needs to get out there.
I wish we heard a little more from our ‘big’ leaders – not just news, but they feel God is leading the mission. I even saw the world christan store has a list of recommendations for books from our leaders. Very helpful actually as I got a feeling of where God is leading them in terms of thought development and all that.
…Sorry, this was going to be a short post… One last thought. We have been temporally out of ywam for training for a few years. At first I had no idea what was happening in the mission and couldn’t found any email updates. since then things are much better, yet most ywamers I know still fail to communicate well. The simple fact is, we pray for sbs support those we are in
touch with. When we return, we will put so much effort into communication because we know how much we long for it now as we are on the supporting end of things!

    Keep up the great work!

  3. There are more than three now and I have yet to implement it and promote it beyond this post. We’re talking about how to implement something like that on the YWAM.org site, but haven’t worked it into the system yet or decided on the service to do it so that we can ensure security for the people who subscribe.

I think that communication is still an area that needs a lot of work for most of us in YWAM. That is one area that I am trying to help with in my work with YWAM.
