Reef to Outback is based out of Townsville, Australia. It is unique in YWAM Bases is that it’s ministry focus area is not limited to a specific town or city, but rather the region of North Queensland, which stretches from Gladstone in the South, to Cape York in the North and Mt. Isa in the West.

The name “Reef to Outback” has been shortened from “The Great Barrier Reef to the Outback”, which was the name suggested to Ken and Robyn Mulligan by Loren Cunningham, the founder of Youth With A Mission, during a Four-Wheel Drive trip around North Queensland, Australia.

Reef to Outback has a few main focuses for their ministry in North Queensland:

  • Youth Street
  • Discipleship Training Schools (YWAM DTS)
  • Medical / Mercy Ministry
